In regards to the health sector, the valley has the following infrastructure in place:
Rural health centres - 1
Basic health units - 9
Civil dispensaries - 2

Apart from the above structure, the Subdivision also has a Lady Health Worker's program in place, under which hundreds of local women have been employed and given necessary training to meet the basic health requirments of women today, such as family planning and personal support etc.
The Sub-division currently has one rural health centre operating on the outskirts of Samahni town. At present there are two qualified male doctors and one female doctor in the centre.
It is worth mentioning that the Government of Azad-Jammu & Kashmir have already sanctioned necessary funds to upgrade the current centre into tehsil-headquater. This will be a 50 bed hospital project which is currently under-construction parallel to the old building and is due to be completed by 2010.
This new site will acommodate the following facilities:

- Lady health workers center
- ECG facilities
- Ultra-sound facilities
- Maternity centre
- Mother & Child healthcare centre
